What I don't like was the surprise awaiting me this weekend when I got home. I have officially been completely moved out of my own house!! What kills me is how carefully executed it was done. I get home on Thursday and attempt to surprise my parents because they were expecting me a day later. I walk in and find more boxes and my computer table gone. I inquire about the sudden disappearance of the table and I get the answer 'Oh! your dad was trying to fix it and it broke so we just threw it out!" Alright, understandable but a lil coincidental wouldn't you say??
Saturday morning I wake up to my mom making noises as she's leaving the house at 9am. A couple of hours later she comes back and explains how she saw this amazing bed at this antique market and she bought it for me (yeah right). It just so happens that the bed is a queen size and comes with a side and curtains. Sunday morning as I'm packing up my mom says to me "why don't you take this bed with you too??" I ask her how she exactly proposes I do that. She simply answers 'Well just put it in your car and take it with you'. Now at this point I'm becoming enraged with this sudden change of plans. So enraged that I decide to become a rebel and refuse to take my bed and don't place my remaining belonging into the boxes.
Monday night I call home and my dad picks up and says "Oh hunnie you'll love your new room. We got RIDE of all the furniture and the extra JUNK you had! We REPAINTED that nasty pink to a nice shade of yellow and put up the beautiful curtains!!!" I swear that after that sentence was uttered I didn't hear anything else and just wanted to crawl in a corner and bawl. For your information that nasty pink was my first attempt at home renovation and that junk was my collection of photos and memories over the years!
But I think it hit me hardest when I realized that this wasn't an attempt at a dream room for ME but rather the creation of a GUEST ROOM!!!!
It's safe to say that I am now a guest in my own house! I cannot wait for the next blow...
