oh my ears!!!

Tonight I attended my first ever owner's condo meeting and I must say that I am OFFICIALLY living in a senior's retirement home.  I was younger than some of these people's great grandchildren and as soon as I pointed out that I was a student, they mocked me through every statement made by saying 'These students are speeding around the property and these students are this and that'. Jeeze.  It didn't make it easier when someone actually asked me what I was studying and I said 'health studies and gerontology'.  I kid you not there was not a noise made in that room and all eyes were on me.  Then I began thinking that we call children kids, but yet it's uncomfortable to refer to the senior generation in any way.  The best was when my upstairs neighbours (about 70) came up to me and said 'Do we make a lot of noise?' which I proceeded to say 'No not at all' and I kid you not she looked at her husband and said, 'Bill here likes to exercise or at least pretend and let's just say sometimes things get a little crazy (giggle)'.  OH! Nightmares to come for years!!! 

Note that the meeting had to end a little earlier because no one and I mean no one wanted to miss the Dancing With The Stars finale! WOW!
